There are limited spaces on each course; to avoid disappointment early registration is recommended.  However there is no time limit to booking your place.

HOW MUCH DOES EVERYTHING COST?

You’ll pay your courses fees to us, and book accommodation through another company; prices may vary, but on average your course, accommodation (including food/transport) should come in under £550 per week.  This is price matched against similar summer school programmes with competitors which cost around £570 per student per week.

HOW MUCH WILL ADDITIONAL ENGLISH LESSONS COST?

We offer extra English language lessons with qualified TEFL English Teachers if students need extra English language support.  Lessons cost £30 per hour.  We also offer small group classes at £15 per hour.  Classes will be tailored to individual’s needs focusing on improving proficiency in written and spoken English.

WHERE ARE THE TRAINING COURSES DELIVERED?

All our courses are delivered in existing London based university campuses.  We plan to run courses in central London, New Cross and East London Docklands.

ARE THE COURSES ACCREDITED?

UKDT is a Social Enterprise affiliated with the accreditation body Social Enterprise UK.  We can offer International Colleges accredited course units with NACEFE (Northern Advisory Council Further Education) and other UK accreditors.  Students that successfully complete our course will receive a certificate outlining the units passed.  Our general short courses are not accredited; however they have been produced to the highest standards by qualified teachers and academics currently working in Higher Education.

Our summer programmes exclusively promote professional career advancement through combining classroom with work place vocational training.

DO YOU ARRANGE WEEKEND EXCURSIONS?

UKDT do not arrange excursion- but we work closely with sightseeing companies and the department for UK Tourism to secure discounted rates for our students to go on exciting trips during their visit to the UK.

WHAT IF THE LEVEL OF THE CLASS IS TOO LOW/TOO HIGH?

Our courses are designed to quickly identify learning streams so that we can pitch and pace lessons accordingly. Differentiated training (teaching at different levels in the same class) is a teaching technique we use.  Don’t worry- we also offer extra English language support- so everyone will access the curriculum and excel.

HOW MANY STUDENTS ARE IN THE CLASSES?

Maximum class size is 25; with lots of individual and smaller group work

HOW MUCH MONEY WILL I NEED FOR DAY-TO-DAY EXPENSES?

You will pay upfront for your course and accommodation (which includes food) so daily expenses will be minimal.  You should consider having around £5-£10 cash if you wish to get extra refreshments and magazines etc.  There will be an opportunity for you to go shopping in London’s amazing retail outlets and markets.

WILL STUDENTS NEED TO BRING THEIR OWN COURSE BOOKS?

All learning material is provided included access to software and digital platforms.  Students should bring a note pad and pen to take notes and record helpful tips.

ARE THE COURSES SUITABLE FOR STUDENTS WHO SPEAK LIMITED ENGLISH?

Our courses do require intermediate to advanced English proficiency. We generally require a minimum IELTS score of 4.5 or equivalent.  Our admissions team can provide you with access to an online test to assess your level when you register.

There is an option for you to begin with English language support- then progress onto the Professional Marketing and Internship programme

WILL STUDENTS PRACTICE THEIR ENGLISH THROUGHOUT THE COURSE?

Yes!  You will be learning, speaking and writing in English, as well as living with a British family and visiting local attractions and shops.  It will be a great opportunity for you to pick up nuances and greater insight into modern British culture.
